In a way, I loved music so much, that any attempt to learn how to play an instrument (piano, guitar) always ended in frustration due to my impatience in not being able to play like Oscar Peterson, or for guitar Ricky Wilson.
I was a big B52s fan and part of the reason was the dirty guitar sound that Ricky laid down. At the time I didn't know how or why it sounded the way it did
Eventually I learned that part of his unique sound was due to the fact that he played hist 6-string guitar with the 2 central strings missing (G & D I'm told)
So when I stumbled across this video I was hooked. Youtuber @slackerVK plays in time to the track showing how the sound is achieved.
